Production 650s will start shipping within a couple weeks so we want to get feedback on those and spend time on those to help guide the decisions on the 550. But yes it will happen likely late summer

First set of preorders went out this week, more being dispatched tomorrow as some just showed up and more leaving the factory tomorrow so within a week all preorders will have been fulfilled

- Less wetted surface
- Stabilizer is lower in the water column moving it out of the turbulence of the front wing. This gives me the feel of a more efficient stabilizer allowing sizing down and better pump feedback
- Same geometry as a soon to come metal fuselage but the metal will even less wetted surface

Benoit can you tell us if the Advanced and metal fuse will have the front foil pulled in towards the mast like the short fuse or will it be more like the regular fuse?

Okā¦ Finally got my sh@t together and went for a test ride on the 750v2 behind the boat with @FoilATX.
I think its the real deal.
I rode with the U Carve 130 and U Surf 120.
The U Carve felt faster, especially when pumpingā¦ I was passing the boat without trying.
The U Surf seemingly did everything else better and will be my go to tail at the current time. Slightly slower than the Ucarve , but unlocked a lot of playfulness.
The roll from edge to edge is crisp. I feel like the release from a hard backside to a frontside was more forgiving, but at the same time, snappier than v1.
Low end is great, much more predictable than V1. Closer to an Enduro 900 as far as stall speed, but felt easier to dig out of a hole.
The pitch stability was extremely well mannered. But will need a faster ride to fully see what that looks like.
Being that we were riding wake, no chance of finding the top speed with the boat running 12.5mph, but Iāll likely see that tomorrow on a wing.
Hoping to get to the surf with it soon!

Just got in from a wing session. Top speed was 26mph. It didnāt get pitchy and no resistance like I was about to hit a wall.
I had a blast getting going as fast as I could and making a long laid out heelside to toeside tack.
I breached quite a few times trying to ride the 1ft wind bumps. No issue recovering at all. It re-enters smooth.

Hmm, that does make senseā¦but does micro advantages worth it for regular Joes? Racers yeah i would assume so, but for the average foiler shaving secs out of each miles time doesnt seem worth it to me for a DW run. But thats just meā¦ill probably buy it anyways

Compared to the kujira v2 650/800? They advertised as being fast but who knows
i have the kj2 almost all sizes and i later got the silk v1. even though the silk is monobloc and probably better built and more upscale. I dont think the difference was enough to upgrade. the kj2 turned amazing and was very similar to the silk v1. there may be a slight difference in feel, but its not a game changer, it not worth the tons of money it costs to get the silk v1. The pump and glide on both are relatively similar, they dont have alot of pump and glide, and they both turn great.

If all you are looking for is a wing that turns better than the Silk V1, you will be disappointed the the V2.
The V2 is all about increasing the range, speed, glide, and pump, while preserving as much of the buttery carving feeling as possible (in my opinion).
The V1s are still fire and Iām about to go towing with the 650 V1 this morning

obviously Chicama not the right spot for this, but it would be interesting to get your back to back on the 850 v1 and 750v2 as the most likely comparison of interest when youāre in small waves again.

Its also beneficial to have the option for different fuses. I love the short fuse with tail in short position. Others will like the long in long position.
nice clip of a 750v2, this is exactly the kind of riding that Iām trying at the moment on the 850 and 750v2 when I get it. Pumped

Kinda crazy how many foils that are ar 11-13 that AFS makes and yet they donāt make a 9-10ar one until now. I kinda feel like they are making way too many foils and not all of them are withstanding the test of time. As in being relevant 3 years later. For example how good is the pure foil compared to what they have released after it. Contrast that to code, they have the most simplest and solid lineup, only 3 lines of foils that cover each aspect ratio. No new replacements on foils almost 3 years old and still arguably the best or second best.
Whatās the point in posting this?

I have absolutely no problem with this. It seems like they do everything in-house, so making tools for a new design is pretty straightforward for them. In my opinion, Iād rather be with a brand that is trying more things with some strike-outs and some home-runs. There are companies that try a ton of things and only release the best. Other companies donāt try much and put whatever they make out the door. And maybe AFS is in the middle trying a ton of things and putting it all out.

Maybe not all their foils withstood the test of time (pure HA for example), but several of them have been around nearly 3 years are still very relevant. Silk v1 is still one of the better surf foils out there and lots of people in this thread saying they will hold onto a silk 650 or 850 regardless of how the v2 works since its so good. Not a surf foil, but the Pure is also very relevant and freestyle wingers are still winning on that foil - so your perspective around relevance there seems misplaced.
A couple niche foils in their lineup like the Ultra or their beginner lines, but Iād rather see them experimenting than resting on their laurels.
