I have not ridden the original silk. I personally don’t think I would have loved it. The enduro was my jam. Again first ride. Onshore junk. Cold weather after just getting home from Florida. In a nutshell I am not afraid to say this. The 950v2 did everything that the 900E did as far as pump/glide but turns way easier. It seriously felt like I was skating a bowl with big wheels and loose trucks. Also. Goes through whitewater/ turbulent water with no feeling. Thats actually a really big deal to me foiling beach breaks.

That sounds like the v1 silk! haha. That said, if the speed and pump are in line with (or better than) the Enduro, then thats an unlock. Im waiting on a 750 and might have to get a bigger size too…
I think that X foils “review” is referencing the v1 S142 tail as slow (it is). Curious how the new carve and surf tails go compared to the pure and silk tails, respectively.
My personal preference is I like a little bit of a slower tail. I actually want to try it with the 142 silk tail. My experience a slower tail allows me to have a greater turning radius. The tail I have is not slow. I think we all have personal preference. Only reason why I didn’t ever try a v1 Silk was I had been told that the enduro pump was easier/ better. Honestly I was very happy with how the Enduro banked angles. But the V2 is changing my mind. Let’s also keep in mind. Prone is my thing. Not parawing or DW. But I am excited to try it in those conditions.

I am personally really excited to jump back into everything they are coming out with. I used the Enduro all last summer. It was hard to let it go haha.

it looks really good, like that the dihedral is still there, and the look is aggressive and smooth. Tips also look nicely cleaned up and the sweep looks really good. I feel like they went aggresive on the curves while tweaking the section to get some pump which is cool. I was worried it would be all curve reduction and no change to section
Me too, I really like the chopped 132 tail. I would go smaller still and when it warms up will be reducing a HA38 tail down to the same AR as the chopped 132
I think both the silks and the enduros benefit from the smaller slower tails for prone, the 142 is too big and I’m not surprised Dylan felt it too draggy for the higher speed riding. The thing I’m after is also quite specific (small wave pockety foam attempts) which I’m super excited for the new foils for this, as well as downwind.

I keep trying to find where the V2 silk is posted for sale online with no luck. Can someone post a link to where it’s being sold? I’d also love to see all the dimensions. Apologies if this is a dumb question. 
It’s not listed most places. I’d guess we’ve all contacted our preferred AFS dealer and asked to be put on their list for whatever is coming in the first shipment. That’s what I’ve done.

has anyone had a feel of the usurf stab? the 120 looks really good (“grip and trust”) which I think is how I’d describe the old Silk stabs, but they were eventually starting to feel too big and locked in
I have a 120 on order - will report back next month! Loving the 130 U-Carve I have though. Might be my favorite stab at the moment.
My current stab approach for the silk wings:
Small Day - trying to maximize pump with silk 1050 → Pure 145
Small/medium day - trying to maximize glide/pump while still carving → 130 U-Carve
Towing / Bigger day maximizing carve → Silk 132
this completely destroyed my resolve to stay calm haha looks epic, sounds epic
and no offers on the v1 either
and the UHM skinny mast sounds good, also a problem for me

Anyone know what tail they were using on the Silk v2? Looks like a USurf, but don’t know the size.
Also, can anyone definitively confirm that the OG 75cm UHM mast is the same as the 75 Skinny? I think that’s the case (the OG 75 was much smaller chord than the others), but want to confirm.
Ive got a 750 v2 on order. Considering if I need a bigger size (950 or 1050) and one of the new tails. Want to understand the range on these foils first though.
After spending a lot more time on the Pure 145 tail, and feeling the speed/efficiency it brings to the Sv1 and the Enduro, its hard to get back onto the Silk v1 stabilizers unless its punchy.
I’ll have some monoblock v1s for sale soon. Definitely an 850 and maybe the 1050, TBD.

OG and Skinny are the exact same. I asked about an updated carbon for v2 version of it this past week and was told that project is on hold for now. I ordered the skinny 80 with carbon core and updated inserts.

Og 75 uhm is the current 75 skinny uhm, since that is the softest mast by far this is highly likely to change so that it’s stiffness can at least match the other skinny’s either it will get more expensive and keep the dimensions or the chord will get a little longer.

I had a chance to test the Silk 950 V2 and Ucarve 150 tail over the last few days (thanks Benoit!). For background I own the Silk V1- 650, 850, 1050. Enduro 700 and 1100. Tails- Silk 132, 142, and a chopped HA 38. I prefer the Silk 132 on everything. I ride the HA 38 when I want a bit more glide and high end speed. (aka reduced front foot pressure). I am going to share my feedback on the Ucarve later because I want more time on it. But I will tell you I really liked the feel of this new tail. Now… My take on the S950V2- They have moved it towards the Enduro in terms of speed, glide, and efficiency; but kept the carvey, surfy feel that the Silk is famous for. As you might expect, if you rode the V1 and V2 back to back you would still say the V1 feels slightly more carvy and surfy rail to rail. But not by much! And the V2 is much more glidey (efficient); and the pump is fantastic. Better that the V1. The upper and lower range of the V2 also feels larger than the V1’s. For sure more high end. And on the low end when I would make wave connections, I enjoyed the enhanced glide and easier pump cadence between waves. I will share more feedback as I continue testing it but they really did a good job here. It is exactly as they describe- more refined without losing the famous Silk surf feel.

I know this is a hard question, but I currently absolutely love the V1 850 - it’s all I use in the Gorge especially from May thru August. If I buy a V2 Silk, would you recommend stepping down to a 750 or sticking with the 850? I know I wouldn’t want anything bigger than the 850, but do you think the V2 750 is equivalent-ish to the V1 850 due to the increased AR and thinner profile?
